The guy with that certain Dance Appeal

In 2018, my unexpected journey into the world of West Coast Swing (WCS) began – a turning point that would permanently change my life. Ironically, I was previously anything but enthusiastic about dancing. I deliberately avoided discos and parties because I felt uncomfortable and clumsy when dancing.

The catalyst for my dance discovery journey was my mother’s upcoming wedding. With the desire not to be completely unprepared for this special occasion, I began to explore various dance styles – from Disco Fox to Standard and Latin to Samba. But it wasn’t until I accidentally saw a promotional video about West Coast Swing that I was truly fascinated.

What immediately excited me: The special versatility of WCS, which can adapt to almost any genre of music, and the distinctive style of this dance form. This discovery marked the beginning of my dancing career, which developed more rapidly than I could have ever imagined.

In the same year, I ventured into competitive dancing and started in the Newcomer division. Since then, I have continuously improved and now dance at Advanced level. My passion for WCS has also expanded into various professional aspects:

• Certified Judge for WCS competitions
• Regular provider of private lessons
• Workshops for all skill levels – from beginners to advanced

What began as necessary preparation for a single event has developed into a comprehensive passion that now makes up a significant part of my life – a transformation from a dance-shy beginner to a versatile WCS enthusiast and teacher. And the beautiful thing is: Through WCS, I found my great love!
